Spreading God's Word: A Gift to Trinity International

Spreading God's Word: A Gift to Trinity International
Fifty-eight-year-old Sharon Moe resides in Kennesaw, Georgia, just outside Atlanta. Her late husband's sister, Laurie Johnson, graduated from Trinity College in 1966, and his nephew, Robb Hansen, earned his MDiv from TEDS in 1990. Laurie's two children, Erik (BA '01) and Brecka (BA '03), also attended Trinity. Sharon's husband, Bruce, who passed away February 21, 2000, established a charitable remainder trust in the 1990s with Trinity.

While she appreciates receiving the quarterly income that their charitable trust provides, Sharon says that Bruce's intention in setting up the trust was primarily to use his money to spread God's Word. "When Bruce retired, he decided to tithe 10 percent off the top of his investments and invest it wisely for young people," says Sharon. "He was hoping that his investment would help them attain a Christian education. Bruce was a magnificent husband and a best friend to me, and I hope that his spirit in doing this lives on in the lives of young people."
